He worked his way up to CEO.
Did every job in the company along the way.
“No one cares as much as Kevin,” people say.
“He leads from the front.”
Whenever the team encounters a problem,
He jumps in and solves it.

His initiative is commendable.
But he’s not happy.
Says he gets sucked into issues his team should be able to handle.
“It’s like they’re waiting for me to do their jobs.”
And they are waiting.
But not because they’re lazy or inept.
Because he taught them to.
He thinks it’s a “them” problem,
When really it’s a “him” problem.
It’s a classic case of classical conditioning.
And their response is Pavlovian.
